AFROBETA Bitches!
Mmmmm Hot ElectroPop chick.
I’ve seen Afrobeta live two and a half times by accident. The first two times were at clubs watching my friend spin, the last time I caught the final half of their set because I had left the bar for a while after Artofficial performed. I always liked them but never really paid too much attention to them until recently, because… well I simply never caught the name of the group until the Artofficial show two weeks ago. but now that has all changed and they have a show next Friday which I plan on attending… on purpose.

It’s ElectroPop in the vein of Dragonette only they’re a little better in my opinion because of the slight touch of Justice on the production. Check it.

ArtOfficial – Fist Fights & Foot Races
Last night I was lucky enough to catch a really sick local band, Artofficial.
To sum up the sound, it’s a Jazz/Hip-Hop. In the vein of Jazz Liberators, Shin-Ski, and whenever Shing02 collaberates with Nujabes. Very important side note. If you’re a bassist, you need to see this band live. Their bass player is a G, for lack of a better term. He channels Jaco Pastorious into Hip-Hop and it is incredible.
Please remember this is a local artist from the Miami area. We all know how the economy is, this shit is rough right now. If you like the album, be sure to throw some money their way via buying their EP on iTunes or ordering a hard copy of the album from Amazon. It’s worth supporting.
