Apologies Flowing Like Lava
I must first apologize for the lack of updates. Between work and school we’ve all been extraordinarily busy for the past week or so. If at all interested in what’s up I am on Twitter as notrightn0w; it’s not always blog related but follow if you must, if you enjoy my wit or poor attempts attempts, or if you just want to have my children. I’m okay with that.
Anyways, Dro and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed ourselves at the Jane’s Addiction concert. How Much? Just click. We’re in bit of an existential bind as we don’t know how life will ever get better than finally seeing Jane’s Addiction live. I’m sure we’ll manage.
Webmantra was just over and we spent most of the day showing each other music poolside. Aren’t iPods amazing? Anyway, that means Ill have ammo for the week. So look forward to it.
Moving on…
This song came on during Beautiful Field. It’s one of my favourite songs, I just hadn’t heard it in the right setting in too long a time. Now I remember why I feel the way I do about it.
Lava is a Brazilian producer (and I love Brasil) who makes Bossanova infused Lounge Music. The vocal melody of this song alone is worth listening to, but if you’re one of those people who insists on knowing the meaning behind a song the rough message directly translates from Portuguese as “…and it Comes to be”. If you’re in a mood to sit back, relax and listen, or just lounge about (Yes, the genre name can be taken that literally) this song is perfect for you. If you just like good music, guess what? If you guessed “It’s for me to!” You’re right.
So sit back, take your shoes off, lay down for about 20 minutes and enjoy Lava, “Vem Para Ficar”.
Zelda Meets Gangsta
I know that the title of this post might not seem plausible yet it’s true thanks to Team Teamwork. They have managed to put together some sick remixes using themes from Zelda. It’s quite clever. Hopefully they can find another game with bad ass music to mashup remixes with.

"Three Days Was The Morning"… Before Jane’s + NIN
Honestly, I am giddy with excitement right now so there is a chance I will start either A) Rambling or B) Chanting. It’s not every day that you come to the realization that you are going to get to see your two favourite bands of all time on tour together in a mere THREE DAYS!!!
In case you’re wondering, although you shouldn’t be if you saw the picture or read the title, I’m referring to the Jane’s Addiction & Nine Inch Nails tour which kicks off in West Palm Beach on Friday evening. Both bands played a big hand in my growing up and I had never gotten to see either live for various reasons. My time is now.
Jane’s Addiction in my humble opinion is the greatest Rock band of all time which is never given due credit aside from landing in top 50 lists. That in itself is an honor, but I just don’t see it as being enough. I understand that at their peak we were blessed with only two studio albums, but the fact that a mere two albums were so important to an entire generation of music speaks volumes about them. I can still remember the first time I heard the live version of “Jane Says” off of Kettlewhistle I knew at that very moment that I was changed forever. Nine Inch Nails on the other hand was one of those bands who was really there when I needed them. “Hurt” (Mind you, IT IS BY NINE INCH NAILS AND JOHNNY CASH COVERED IT. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND) has to be one of the saddest, and most visceral songs ever written. Even trying to sing along to it like Trent feels like some sort of emotionally draining torture.
Now, I’m a man, and they too are a lot older. Whether it’s the same or not, I’m just grateful than I will finally have this opportunity.
In homage of the fact that I am three days away from seeing Jane’s Addiction, I’m goign to share with you one of their more epic, beautiful tracks. Not so ironically named “Three Days” off of my favourite Rock album of all time Ritual de lo Habitual.
…of Course I couldn’t forget about one NiN either now, could I? Here is one of my favourite tracks off of their live album …And All That Could Have Been. The original version of the track is off an album that nearly every Industrial musician not only owns, but admits to being greatly inspired by, Pretty Hate Machine.
New Skunk or Old Funk?!

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you funky sexy robots. I’m Chris Lazaga. I don’t listen to electro or hip hop or trance or any of that freakiness. I’m what I call a “jam-head.” (copyright 2009- I want a quarter any time that term is used. If you think I can’t do that, read about Dennis Hope)
"On The Disco-Disco-Théque-Théque"

Man… I have seen Otto Von Schirach about three or four times by now. To be quite honest I’m only a fan of a few of their songs, but their live show is something to be reckoned with. Otto is one of those bands you need to see live even if you don’t like them. It’s endlessly fun. In fact there is more than one picture of me circling myspace in which I’m dancing with the “_____” (the bunny suit guy)… One time with a monster head, the other time I was on stage with him as he was dressed up as a Mexican Luchador. That was fun.
Otto Live is an experience kids. Anyways here are two of the songs by Otto I actually like. (Via Cream Team)
I see it as a mix of Breakcore and Electro-Industrial. If you ask Otto he’ll tell you it’s “Break-Booty-Electro-Horror-Porn”. That’s respectable… Right?
Dr-dr-dr-dr- Drop Drop Drop!!!!
P E A C E Fire Brings Fire

Japanese Robot Sex funk on the Disco-Disco-Theque? That should show you people how to party.
There’s something else to P e a c e Fire though. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is. Whatever it might be has made a fan out of me.

It Burns!!!!

I can’t say I’ve ever been a huge Kylie Minogue fan, but this remix is definitely hot. I always did respect her ability to pump out serious bangers. Let’s call this one Uplifting Sexy House. Whatever you consider it… Freemasons and Kylie were made for one-another.
THREE DAYS TILL JAPANDROIDS!

On 4/28/09 the new Japandroids LP finally drops. Vinyl and digital only… how Indie. I don’t mean to sound condescending, I like Japandroids a lot and I’m totally stoked for Post-Nothing.
So, to help build anticipation for the release I’m posting one of the songs on the album. It just so happens to be my favourite Japandroids song hitherto as well.
Now, get on that Garage Rock glory.

I’m Speachless

Damn, I came across what might be the absolutely most beautifully produced Hip-Hop track of all time today. I don’t even think anything I can say about it does it justice. Just check it out for yourself.
I’m in love, and I know I throw that word around a lot, but not like this.

HAHA! YEAH!

So I was just chatting up with a friend on AIM, who will no doubt read this and know I’m referring to her, who said “Check Check Check Check it out!”. Instantly I thought of this remix. Yes, even before I did the original Beastie Boys song.
Sometime last summer Moonbug put together a vicious Mash-Up of that Otaku-Pop hotness, Capsule, Hip-Hop legends, The Beastie Boys, and The original Gods of the Dance Floor, Daft Punk. When I first heard it, I fell in love at how seamlessly it blended and how awesome it was. To be quite honest, I haven’t been able to ever listen to any of the original track on this song since. I’m putting a heavy recommendation stamp on this one.
